Althea’s new skin care line!
If you haven’t heard, I’m pretty sure you have though. Althea’s new products can be seen all over Instagram now. So, in this post, I’ll be giving you a review to see which one you’ll get for yourself!
If you don’t know what Althea Korea is, they are an online website that sells Korean cosmetics and ships worldwide! They also offer amazing deals for their products and have interesting events often!
Without further ado, let’s go!
The contour cleanser is a cleanser for all skin types. I’m so happy that it’s so versatile for all types of skin. Mine’s combination but more on the dry side, and this doesn’t dry me out at all! Its main ingredient is ice plant and lemon myrtle which helps with hydration and is rich in vitamin C and antioxidants.
This product has 150g and costs RM 23 (USD 5.90).
The overall ratings from Skincarisma seem good; however, there are some ingredients (about 6%) saying that it’s not good for oily skin. Since I do not have oily skin, I cannot comment on this.
The consistency of this is more on the thicker side, like a thick paste and there are little capsules in them, but as you lather it up, the little capsules dissolve. A little does go a long way with this cleanser. I just need a pea-sized amount for my whole face!
I was so excited when I found that this cleanser foam up so much so easily with such little product. The other cleansers I’m using at the moment does not foam up as much and I personally like foamy cleansers. After using this, my skin feels moisturised, smooth and clean. It doesn’t dry my skin out at all which is great. It does not irritate my skin whatsoever either.
Personally, I really like this cleanser. Plus, it’s so affordable and does the job well without damaging my skin. Definitely would put this in my basket again!
So, this isn’t just a toner, it’s actually a 2-in-1 product: a primer and a toner. So, I’d recommend this for morning use instead of at night. This product is aimed at all skin types as well. And let me just tell you about its scent! I love it so much, it has a slight sweet floral scent that smells so divine. I can’t get enough of it.
It has 200 ml and costs RM 50 (USD 12.80).
Skincarisma detected that the product has alcohol in it. This could be bad for dry and sensitive skin, but my skin did not feel agitated nor feel dry after using it so perhaps its alcohol percentage is very low (I usually can tell when a toner has alcohol, I really couldn’t tell with this one until I saw it on Skincarisma).
The consistency of the toner is slightly thicker than the usual ones which I like because of my dry skin. So this is definitely better for layering than applying on with a cotton pad. It clings pretty well to my powder too so I do enjoy this. After using it, my skin also feels more hydrated and smoother. This doesn’t irritate my skin at all nor does it feel heavy or sticky on the skin. The applies really easy and absorbs easily into the skin too.
Aside from the alcohol, I have nothing to complain about this product! I actually really like it and it does the job well. The product is also very affordable so I would recommend it and would purchase it again.
The last item we have from Althea’s bare essential line is their fixer cream which is a moisturiser! This is suitable for all skin types as well. It’s main ingredients consist of Trehalose, Wild Green Tea, and Baobab Tree Extract which are all very good for moisturising. This cream says that it penetrates deep into the skin to plump it and claims to have 24-hour hydration. I’m quite sceptical about being able to moisturise my Sahara dessert skin for 24-hours… So…
This has 50g of product and costs RM 50 (USD 12.80) as well.
The ingredients for this product is by far the best compared to the other two! It’s great for both dry and oily skin and it has ingredients that promote wound healing.
The cream feels light and watery gel-like. Very easy to blend into the skin and feels light. It does not irritate my skin at all and does not feel greasy after using it on my skin! Scent wise, it doesn’t have a super strong scent, it’s pretty mild, I can’t really describe what it is.
After using it, my skin definitely feels very hydrated and relief me from my dryness. The effect is almost instant and it makes my skin feel really nice. I doubt it does help moisturise my skin for 24 hours but it does do a decent job in keeping my skin plump. This moisturiser doesn’t seem like my usual intense thick creams but it’s really not bad! Would recommend to dry skin peeps like me but if you live in a four-season country, I can’t comment on if it could work in the winter.
I don’t have any complaints for this product either! I overall genuinely like it and again it’s really at a decent price. I would repurchase it for sure and would recommend it to others.
Seems like I gave a 9/10 for all the products! I feel like, for the price, Althea really came up with some high-quality skincare. So if you’re a beginner at makeup and skincare, you can look into trying these out. If you’re not, I’d still recommend these products as they look so minimalist aesthetic and great to use!
Have you bought anything from Althea? Heard of them? Would you try these out? Let me know!
