Blotting sheets for hot summer days!
Today’s review is going to be about Palladio’s Rice Paper which are blotting papers. I find this product really useful for blotting up all that oil off your face especially in the summer heat. Now, from where I’m from, it’s really hot and humid all year round so this product is naturally something we Malaysia would gravitate to. If you missed knowing more about Palladio’s products, I have also done a review for their blushes!

Here’s a little bit about the product:
“Palladio Rice Paper Blotting Tissues help eliminate shine and leave skin feeling and looking smoother. These unique tissues are made from natural rice and perfect for touch ups throughout the day. Use the matte side to blot away shine and the powdered side for touch-ups. Packaged in a handy component, these tissues will fit inside even in the smallest purse or pocket, so you’ll never have to leave home without them!”
There are three shades available to this product: Translucent, Natural, and Warm Beige. The colours definitely don’t cover a lot of shades, but the translucent one is definitely for everyone.
There is a total of 40 sheets in the product which is a fair amount. It retails for RM18.81 (USD 4.50) which you could buy in your local Guardian Malaysia stores or the Guardian online shop. For those who don’t stay in Malaysia, you could buy them on the Palladio website.
Oryza Sativa(Rice) Paper, Oryza Sative (rice) starch, Silica, Methylparaben, Fragrance (Parfum). May contain Titanium Dioxide CI 77891, Iron Oxides CI 77491 / CI 77492 / CI 77499.
HOW IT IS USED
Use the matte side (side without powder) for blotting excess oil and the powdered side for finishing and touch ups.
Easily the packaging of the product is simple and pretty cute. It’s pretty small and compact so it’s really easy to slide it in a purse. The two colour shades I felt were fine, both worked on me, I didn’t really have an issue with it being too dark or light, so if you’re around my skin tone I think any would be fine. Although, I personally prefer the translucent powder one the best.
The sheets are also really easy to work with. I like that it comes out like tissue paper where every time you pull one out other is already there for easy access. So you don’t need to worry about fumbling around for a sheet each time you need one.
I actually didn’t know you were supposed to blot at the matte side and then touch up using the powdery side… Until I actually researched a little bit more about the product. But, I felt that using the powdery side to blot was also alright. I found the powder didn’t look cakey or too much on my face after using it despite my skin being on the dry side.
This is how the paper looks after blotting up the excess oil off my face. Sometimes, my face does get oily (again, I live in a hot and humid country so I can’t really escape that). It could definitely soak up a good amount of oil. The usual blotting paper I use are the ones from Clean&Clear that is blue, I usually need two sheets at one go just because my face gets pretty oily.
Overall, this is a great product for its quality. I feel that this is definitely a good quality blotting paper that even provides some powder for you to touch up your face so there’s that two in one thing going on. The size of the paper is also pretty good, it’s quite a large sheet. Convenient, compact, and gets the job done!
Do you use any blotting sheets? How do you keep your face getting really oily throughout the day? Let me know!
