Finally, something makeup related!
Hello, friends!
I feel like I haven’t been reviewing anything makeup related for a while now. So today I manage to bring you a review on the Fingerpens from 16 Brand. 16 Brand is by Chosungah and their all about big, bold colours, and super glowy results! The brand is finally hitting Malaysian stores available exclusively in Guardian Malaysia.
So, if you’re looking to get your hands on these, head over to your nearest Guardian now~ It retails for RM 45.90 Β (USD 10.40) for 4g/ 0.14 oz.
ABOUT
The fingerpens are all an all-in-one product which you can use on your lips, eyes, and cheeks. So it’s really multi-purpose, which is similar to the Play 101 pencils from Etude House except, these ones come in a liquid form with a cushion sponge tip applicator.
They’re easy-gliding, has a moist and clean texture is similar to watercolour which spread easily on the skin without feeling sticky or oily.
There is a total of five shades available from Guardian Malaysia:
-
Gang Pink (Matte)
This is a really unflattering shade on my lips just because of how light it is. It made my lips paler. Also, don’t mind the drier-looking lips, I attempted to put some cushion foundation on to let the colour show better… But it backfired and it does not look flattering at all (made my lips look paler). Β Not a fan of it, but it is essentially a baby pink shade.
2. Orange Pink (Shine)
This shade makes sit seem as if it’s my original lip colour with a little bit of a shine. Really natural!
3. Pink Shot (Matte)
This shade is a really natural pink that I also really like.
4. Poppy Red (Matte)
Poppy Red looks more of a reddish, warm-toned red. I really like this colour!
5. Berry Red (Shine)
Berry Red is a cool-toned pink to me than a red too. This is my favourite colour from the five, I think. I think this colour could be really flattering for all skin types!

REVIEW
The sponge applicator is actually really soft. I didn’t know it was going to feel so soft! It was a pretty pleasant surprise. The packaging of the product looks like an actual pen, and it has really bold colours! But I feel one thing I dislike about it is that it’s hard for me to tell what shade I’m reaching for immediately. I’ll take a little time for me to register what shade is what, and the star at the back indicating the colour, I feel, isn’t really helpful either. Like for Poppy red, the colour is kinda similar to the bright orange, you can’t really see what colour that is.
The product also smells really nice which is a bonus.
Application of the product is really simple, it transfers on your lips well and blends really nicely. It also blends really well on the cheeks and eyelids too. If you accidentally put on too much product, you can just easily wipe away the excess as well. The darker tints do tend to stain your lips thus the longevity of it would be a little longer. I can’t say the same for the lighter shades like Orange Pink. Also, they feel like nothing on your lips which I absolutely love! Very moisturising as well. I honestly can say this is the lightest lip product I have ever tried on my lips!
One thing I dislike is that the pumps are a little hard to control, I feel sometimes one pump is not enough but two pumps is a little too much… So I’m not too excited about that; however the sponge does accumulate the access product, so it won’t completely go to waste, it kinda just sits in the sponge. I don’t really know if that’s really a good thing cause of bacteria accumulation, but yea…
VERDICT: BUY! (8/10)
Overall, the product is pretty good. It feels like nothing on the lips and feels moisturising; really comfortable! The longevity is fair but better with the darker shades (on lips). It blends very easy as well any part of the face! Overall, it’s a really easy product to use and super handy because it’s useable 3 ways. I’d recommend it, I’m a fan of all the shades except Orange Pink!
