Hello, friends!

How are you? I’m getting really busy recently but I’m back with another review. This time about some products for your body. I received some items from Bathday and I was excited to test them out. So here’s what I thought of the products!

Bathday is a little company that sells handmade body products. I had a little chat with the owner and Bathday actually started as a university project that became bigger. All their products are handmade and they contain natural ingredients that are great for people who have sensitive skin like me. If you want to know more about my skin where you can compare mine with yours, you can read about it right here.

You can check out their Facebook page as well as their Instagram account for more details about their products.

I will be skipping the ‘about’ section as well as the ‘how to use’ section as it is very straightforward what the products are about and how they are used.

In this post, I will be talking about their Lavender shower gel, their Lavender body butter as well as their creamy shea butter lip balm. These products do have different scents, which I will mention in the review section. They also sell goat milk soap bars and a hand scrub which look interesting but I didn’t manage to try.

REVIEW

Relaxing Lavender Shower Gel

The packaging of this is standard with a pump that comes in a clear bottle so you can see how much of product you have used. I like the colour of the pastel labels, but it looks okay. The consistency of the shower gel is quite thick and glides on the skin easily. Without a loofah it doesn’t bubble at all, but it still leaves you squeaky clean; with a loofah there will be loads of bubbles to lather you up!

As for the scent, I received the one in the Lavender scent, I’m sorry to say that I wasn’t really a fan of the scent. It didn’t remind me of how I remember Lavender… However, they do come in 3 other scents: Pink Grapefruit, Sweet Orange, and Rose Geranium, which all sounds really yummy. I personally would love to try Pink Grapefruit/Rose next! The scent of the gel does linger a little after showering, but I’d say about 15 minutes max.

Each bottle of shower gel retails for RM 33 (USD 7.50) each, 240 ml.

Relaxing Lavender Whipped Body Butter

Just like the body gel, the body butter does smell exactly the same. So, again I wasn’t too big of a fan. But it didn’t matter too much. It is available in the 2 other scents: Refreshing Citrus, and Rose Geranium. I’m also intrigued to how the two smells like and will they be the same texture/consistency.

The texture, on the other hand, was really surprising! Usually, body butters would be kind of gel-like, watery but creamy, but this one is kind of stiff (but not really in a way). It wasn’t your typical body butter feeling, it kind of feels like soft room temperature butter.

It spreads really easily, and is really smooth when applied. The best thing about it is that it doesn’t leave a sticky feeling (which you know I hate when using products). After using it, my skin does feel smoother and moisturised which is what I’m looking for in a body butter. You also don’t really need too much product when spreading them on your body, just a little should be enough.

I am also happy to say that the product does not irritate my skin whatsoever. I have used many different types of body butter and they do end up burning my skin (ones from the body shop) or having my skin react to it one way or another so I’m usually cautious with these products. This one, however, did not harm my skin in anyway. So if you do have sensitive skin, I would recommend this product!

The product retails for RM33 (USD 7.50) for 50 g. You can get the travel sized ones which come in a set of 3 for RM 45 (USD 10).

Creamy Shea Butter Lip Balm

This is my personal favourite out of the three as I am always reaching for it! This is a great lip balm for anyone who has really dry, crusty lips like mine. They have two other kinds available: Peach Shea Butter, and Glossy Shea Butter. I also really like the packaging of this, it’s something about transparent lip balms that attract me… I really want to try the Glossy Shea Butter one as I have been digging the glossy lip look for a while now.

As mentioned in my Getting to know my skin post, I’m really sensitive to lip balms (funny it’s only lip balms and not other lip products though). I can only take unscented lip balms, scented ones will burn my lips. This one is unscented, but I can definitely smell the Shea butter in it (I have a whole tub of Shea butter from L’occitane so I know how they smell like).

It glides onto the lips really smoothly. I really love that it keeps my lips really moistures for a good amount of time (a few hours at least before I have to use it again). It does not irritate my lips at all. Sadly, mine broke in the container, so now I have to press it down with my finger after I have used to keep it back, but overall, it just is a really good lip balm.

This retails for RM 11 (USD 2.50) for 6 g.

VERDICT: BUY! (Body gel, 7/10), (Body Butter, 7.5/10), (Lip balm, 8.5/10)

Overall, the products were good. The body gel does the job well, the body butter has a really nice texture that moisturise the skin and does not make you feel sticky, and the lip balm moisturise the lips really well. All products are handmade which is amazing, and they also have good natural ingredients in there. Prices wise, they’re affordable. All in all, Bathday products are really friendly to people with sensitive skin.

FTC – The products mentioned were sent to me. All opinions and thoughts I made are truthful and based on my personal experiences, none of my opinions is influenced by anything else.

Do you know of any handmade brands that make products good for all skin types, especially beneficial for sensitive skin? Let me know! I really want to try more of them!

See you in the next one!

Cheers,
Sylvia
