Hello, friends!

I’m back again with another review. This time about blushes, I don’t think I’ve ever mentioned blushes on my blog before. It’s a little funny because I absolutely love them! If I’m opting for an everyday simple look- what I do is basically fill in my eyebrows, use a blush, and smack some lip products on! And there it is, my go-to everyday makeup. So these are the Palladio matte blushes.

Palladio the Botanical & Vitamin Infused Cosmetics is from the U.S. and they are now available in a selected Guardian Malaysia store near you. The brand is fashioned for everyone with all types of skin tones and allows you to create a variety of looks. There are also ingredients such as Ginseng, Green Tea, and Gingko in some of their products which surprised me (I love Gingko in this Chinese dessert, one of my faves!). I am also very happy to say that they are cruelty-free and is a drugstore brand!

I received these matte blushes about 2 weeks back (I was really excited to try them!) and I gave myself some time to try them out to give you this review. Usually, makeup doesn’t take as long as skincare for me to really decide what I think of the products. Anyway, let’s get into it.

Palladio Herbal Matte Blush is an enhancing blush that brushes onto cheeks smoothly for a soft, matte look and even finish. The satin finish formula flatters the face and helps hide the appearance of line and wrinkles that shimmer blushes may enhance. Matte blush helps condition skin and protect from free-radical damage while providing a beautiful, matte application.

These blushes come in four different shades:

  1. BM01 Berry Pink:
  2. BM02 Bayberry
  3. B03 Peach Ice
  4. BM04 Toasted Apricot

Below are swatches on my wrists. All the colours are lightly swatched (except for the first one which I swatched a little too hard ahaha).

Below are cheek swatches:

Berry Pink is a very subtle pink that isn’t too much of a pastel or a hot pink. It’s easy to wear for those with lighter skin tones.

Bayberry is a deeper pink that sort of have a reddish tone to it. I feel this is suitable for any skin types as it is quite a universal colour!

Peach Ice is a light blush shade. I think this shade would also look better on lighter to medium skin tones, unless you enjoy a light blush look.

Toasted Apricot is a little burnt orange that I think is also quite a universal colour on all skintones. For darker skin, this would come off as a coral-ish tone that I think is appealing!

The blushes retail for RM26.90 (USD6) each for 6 g (0.21 oz) and you can get them at your nearest Guardian Malaysia!

Mica,Talc,Kaolin,Zinc Oxide,Pentaerythrityl Tetraisostearate, Isopropyl Myristate, Mineral Oil, Ethylhexyl Palmitate Microcrystalline Wax, Phenoxyethanol, Ethylhexylglycerin, Mineral Oil (And) Prunus Armeniaca (Apricot) Kernel Oil (And) Chamomilla Recutita (Matricaria) Flower Extract, Butylene Glycol (And) Aqua (And) Ginkgo Biloba Leaf Extract, Butylene Glycol (And) Aqua (And) Panax Ginseng Root Extract, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice,May Contain: Iron Oxides CI 77491, Iron Oxides 77492, Iron Oxides 77499, Yellow 6 Lake, Red 7 Lake, Red 28 Lake, Red 30 Lake

Simply use a brush and gently brush it against the apples of your cheeks. If you want a more intense blush look, repeat until satisfied.

I love bringing my blush on the apples of my cheek, blending them upwards and towards the side and then towards my nose. I personally think it looks really flattering. Below is an image to illustrate how I do my blush (the red represents the blush). Of course, you do not have to do it how I do but I wanted to show you if you are interested.

As mentioned, I’ve spent about 2 whole weeks going into these blushes and using them every day for school. These matte blushes have gorgeous shades! My personal favourite is Toasted Apricot as it gives a really nice reddish orangey shade to the face, and it is overall the deepest shade of the blushes. My second favourite would easily be Bayberry, I love deeper shades to my blushes.

As you can see above, the blushes come in a very flat sturdy plastic case that can be stored really easily. It does not come with a mini brush or mirror; I personally love blushes that come with brushes (that rhymed haha) and/or a mirror just because it’s really easy for me to bring it around and touch up if I’m out for a long day.

The blush shades are easily wearable and also pigmented. Using a brush, it’s really easy to pick the colours up and the colour payoff is also pretty good. It’s because the texture of the blush is really soft and fine; however, they can be a little chalky. They are also buildable which is great for me as I like my blushes quite obvious. For anyone who likes a natural flush, they are generally quite natural looking when used with a light hand. I would say that the blushes last up to a maximum of 5-6 hours for me in my humid hot Malaysian weather which is considerably good already.

VERDICT: 8.5/10 (BUY!)

Overall, the quality is of blushes are pretty good. They have good ingredients such as the Ginkgo Biloba Leaf Extract. Despite being a little chalky, they come with good pigmentation. They could be buildable and the colours are suitable for a large range of skin tones (I have recommended the shades to skin tones above). Sadly, they do not come with a brush or mirror, but speaking price wise these are extremely affordable.

FTC – The products mentioned were sent to me. All opinions and thoughts I made are truthful and based on my personal experiences, none of my opinions is influenced by anything else.

  1. […] Today’s review is going to be about Palladio’s Rice Paper which are blotting papers. I find this product really useful for blotting up all that oil off your face especially in the summer heat. Now, from where I’m from, it’s really hot and humid all year round so this product is naturally something we Malaysia would gravitate to. If you missed knowing more about Palladio’s products, I have also done a review for their blushes! […]
