It has dawned on me that it is important to know what kind of skin type I have…
Hello, friends!
Since I felt like every time I do a review on a skin care product or generally just any type of review at all… I would explain again what kind of skin type I am and I feel it gets really repetitive. So, I thought it would be a good idea to provide an actual post to what my skin type is just to give you an idea as a reader how my skin reacts to products and how it would have had differed from yours.
In three words my skin could be described as:
- Combination skin (more towards dryness especially around the chin)
- Sensitive
- Pore problems (visible pores that are quite large)
I’m going to go into it a little more in depth…
1. Combination Skin
I feel that I worry about my dryness more so than the oiliness of my face. My face gets particularly oily at my T-zone throughout the day (I live in Malaysia which is summer all year long, thus I can never get away with my oily skin. However, I feel that my skin is not oily whatsoever when I spent my time in China during winter). My dryness is bad, I feel that sometimes my skin gets flaky and extremely dry. So, moisturising is definitely a top priority for my skin.
2. Sensitive skin
There have been a handful of products I have tried that were not okay for my skin. Not in the sense that it broke me out, but instead, burnt my skin! My skin gets red patches that sting and itch and it obviously isn’t good. This goes for both skincare and makeup products! One example is the use of scented lip balms (I’m not too sure about the higher end brands as I’ve tried the Fresh lip balms and tey didn’t burn my lips), I can’t use EOS lip balms as they burn my lips pretty bad. 😕
3. Pore problems
I personally think my pores are quite large and I tend to have a lot of excess sebum around my chin and nose. This results in a lot of sebaceous filaments around those areas constantly and I absolutely hate them! I’ve tried a lot of things, but they always end up coming back 2-3 days later.
Hopefully, this can help you understand my skin with the reviews I post.
Now what about you? What’s your skin type like? Do you have similar skin as I do? I’d like to know!
See you in the next one~
Cheers,
Sylvia
Lovely post! I think my skin is more combo, but over the years my t-zone is no longer as oily. Cheeks have always been dry.
