I’m here to show you all my top 5 makeup products and top 5 skin care products that I have loved in 2016!
Disclaimer: Some pictures used do not belong to me
Hello, friends!
Today’s post is one that is in collaboration with a friend of mine Outofmythoughts which you can find her blog here! This is also my first ever collaboration on my blog! Similarly to me, she does a lot of makeup and skin care reviews 💄, and I personally enjoy reading them. She also takes amazing quality photos and I’m always so impressed. 💖 This is also a two-part post, so be sure to check out her faves from 2016 right here!
Before we get into it, I have to say that the products I have mentioned aren’t rated in any way, they’re all at random, but definitely on my top 5 list. I always see myself reaching for these products.
MAKEUP
1. Too Faced Chocolate Soliel Bronzer
Although this is my first ever bronzer, I still feel like I made the right choice and picked a good one! This provides great pigmentation and a really nice natural looking sun kissed look. I genuinely love it, and the best part is the chocolate scent! If you would like to know more about the product, I’ve actually written a full review about it which you can check here.
2. Etude House Bling Bling Eye Stick in #03
Eyeshadow sticks are probably the best invention made in the makeup industry. They’re simple to use and blends easily. You don’t even need a brush to blend it, you can just use your fingers! Mine is a pink shade that is really pretty, I use it all over my lid as a base shade. It is extremely pretty and I would also recommend it if you are looking for a pink eyeshadow. Below is a picture of me with it on:
3. NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in Sparkle Nude
The NYX Jumbo Eye pencil is a great invention, as mentioned, I love eyeshadow sticks. This is another one I always find myself reaching for! And with the pic above, I used it in my inner corners. Really simple to use, blends easy and also has an affordable price tag! Unfortunately I have yet to explore the other colours, I’ve only got this one as of now…
4. Maybelline Hyper Gloss liquid eyeliner
I’ve always mentioned that I absolutely adore Maybelline’s Hyper Gloss. It is my favourite eyeliner and I always find myself reaching for it. It’s super pigmented and glides on very easily. I’ve found some liquid eyeliners to be patchy on my eye especially after putting on eyeshadow, this one however, shows up very well even with eyeshadow on!
5. Peripera Peri’s Ink Limited Edition set
This is a lip tint set that comes with 5 different shades: pink, pink+red, red, red+orange, and orange. They smell amazing and are super pigmented. They stain my lips well, and is not drying. It’s also small in size so it’s really easy for me to pop it in my little bag. I overall had a great experience with the product! If you want to know more on what I thought about the products, I’ve also made a review for this one which you can read here.
SKINCARE
1. Skin Food Rice Wash Off Mask
This is a mild exfoliator that moisturise and brightens your skin after you use it. I fell in love with this product the first time I have ever used it, and it just gives you a difference after using it. I’d recommend the mask just to add into your own skincare routine just because it provides you good result. I also generally love the product, I’ve also written a product review for this product which you can read here!
2. Vivisure Hibis Cream
Ever since having this product, I barely touched my old moisturiser now. This makes my skin feel super moisturised and it keeps the moisture in! It doesn’t feel tacky on the skin and it definitely helps my dry skin areas. I also made a full review on this product, if you’re interested, you can read here.
3. Skinestica Sheet Masks
Sheet masks are one of my favourite things to use in my skincare routine and a lot of them I have tried and love. This year, however, I bought a lot of Skinestica sheet masks as they were on sale. Turns out I actually love them. Their sheet masks are firm and feels like a normal quality sheet mask (such as ones from Innisfree). The fitting of the mask is great for me, it definitely has my faced covered up well and the mask is also packed with the formula. It takes a good 30 minutes for them to dry out and at the end of using the product, my face definitely feels more moisturised! So, this was definitely topped the list (well it’s kinda also mainly cause I have been using them so much…)
4. Biore Aqua Rich Watery Essence Sunscreen
I’ve never really paid much attention to putting on sunscreen as I found they were tacky and it doesn’t feel good on the skin. It feels heavy and uncomfortable. But this one, is absolutely amazing! It feels like moisturiser on the skin and it glides on smoothly. I love that it’s so light weight and it pretty much feels like nothing! I’ve come to love using sunscreen and the best part is my skin gets protected from UV rays. If you’re looking for an everyday sunscreen, I would definitely recommend using this one!
5. Innisfree Super Volcanic Pore Clay Mask
This was the first clay mask I have ever owned and definitely still the best one I have owned. I haven’t got to make a review for this mask yet but it helps with my pores. Everytime I have it on, I get this cooling effect that feels really calming. It also helps cleans out some sebum on my nose and chin, and it also helps my tightening my face. I know that there is a lot of controversy of this product and Skinfood’s Egg White Pore mask, I personally prefer this one! Since my skin is sensitive, this one does not irritate my face at all… unlike the Skinfood one. I’m planning to get a review on these two products for sure, but all in all, I would recommend the product!
And that is the end of my top 5 skincare and makeup products! I hope you enjoy reading it.

The rice mask was so nice and weird at the same time, it honestly felt like i was rubbing rice pudding onto my face.
