Almost- Actually, all my reviews are on Korean makeup products, this is my first time reviewing a none Korean makeup brand! Haha.
Hello friends, how’s your day? I’ve been really busy so I’m pretty occupied with university and all but I’m generally feeling good. <: Anywho, let’s just get right into the review, shall we?
Oh! One more thing, I decided to stop calling my reviews “reviews”, that’s a little boring, I think. So now, I’m naming this “Buy or Bye?” and at the end of the review, I will telling you whether this item is a BUY or a BYE.
This is the Too Faced Milk Chocolate Soliel Bronzer, it is the lighter version of their Chocolate Soliel Bronzer. It is a matte, non-shimmering bronzer that is suitable for fair to medium skin tones, there are other shades available to suit almost all skintones! This retails for RM119 (about USD 30) and there is 10g of product in there.
I absolutely love the packaging on this product. Although, I do have to agree that Too Faced usually have the cutest packaging ever in comparison to other brands that can be found in Sephora. Thus, I’d give it an A* cause it’s just so cute! I also really like the gold colour to it and the intricate design of the compact, I think it looks pretty expensive. However, with that being said, it is still made out of plastic, pretty obvious but doesn’t bother me too much and I still love the design along with the box!
Besides that, it is also very flat and light, so the storing process for this product is really easy (if you’re not bringing it around constantly in a purse). It also comes with a mirror in its compact, so you can use the mirror if you would like (it’s quite a large mirror), but I’d probably recommend you to leave this product at home as it is a powder… And power breaks easily.
The one thing I’ve noticed that stands out most from this product is that it smells like chocolate. I know, it’s a pretty trivial thing for a bronzer as it doesn’t really reflect on how well it works as a bronzer, but I’m pretty happy that it smells like chocolate as I absolutely love it! Anyway, let’s get back to what I actually think of the product.
As this is my first ever bronzer, do keep in mind that I will not be able to give you comparisons to other brands, but, I have to honestly say that I really love this bronzer. I’ve mentioned this many time in my blog posts and videos that I really enjoy more natural makeup, thus why I chose the lightest shade to this bronzer collection, so it’ll look very natural on my skin. I feel like it brings back a nice glowy warm colour onto my face after putting on my BB cushion; it also isn’t orange or red, it’s just a light brown that I really like.
This bronzer also blends easily and is really pigmented, I didn’t want to go for the chocolate soliel just because of pigmented it was. I thought it would be annoying for me to always need to be alert using a very light hand if I got that one. Also, the bronzer doesn’t give me a muddy face look so I’m pretty happy with that.
I don’t really have any cons to give this bronzer besides its pricetag, overall, it is a great product. This is though, an investment as not everyone can foot out the money for a bronzer. But if you do ever consider getting a good one, I would recommend this! Plus, it could last you for a long time. 🙂
If you want to see the bronzer used in action, I have used it plenty of times in my makeup tutorial videos, you can click here to check it out!
I would definitely repurchase this product when I am out, I’m not sure if I’ll explore too much on other bronzers as I really love this one, but, we’ll see…
- Has a chocolate scent
- Cute packaging
- Blends easy
- Doesn’t make face muddy
- Glows up skin
- Good longevity
- Quite pricey
- Has chocolate scent (if you don’t like it)
Do you have any cheaper alternative to this bronzer you can recommend me? Or maybe just other brands (despite the price). I’d love to know in the comments below!
Hope you have a good day!
