Food Hunt 🍴: 10 Grams

Decided to write about this local cafe-restaurant near my house that I like

Hello Syllies! How’re you today?

Well, I decided to give you a little peak into this cute place that I’ve dined in for a few times. 10 grams is a little place that’s about 5-10 minutes away from where I stay. One would to describe the vibe of it is cozy. I feel likt the decor of the area is very cute, and they have different types of seating area that goes together quite well. There’s three seating sections: one main area where the bar is at as well, a middle outdoor seating area/smoking area, and another indoor one. The other indoor seating area is actually really cool! I say this because it is made out of a large metal box- the type you see on big trucks that carry large items around… Hmmm, I don’t really know how to explain it but that’s the gist.

This is the outdoor seating area as I mentioned, and to the right is the large metal box. They carved out one side so there’s the whole sliding glass doors. There’s also about 2 windows on the metal box. I think it looks pretty cool. I apologise for not putting a picture up so you get a better idea. Anyway, this time I went around, I sat in their main seating area (where the bar is situated). The below picture will show you how it looks like!

I think my favoutite decor item in this is the lightbulbs and this wall where they display some pots, pans, and other utensils. It gives a little sort of vintage vibe that I enjoy. One thing when I was seated was that I could smell the food. You might be wondering: Sylvia, isn’t that a good thing? Well, see, it smelt like grease and that kitchen steanch. For example, it smell like you cooked a whole lot of food in your kitchen and the smoke coming from it that clings to your clothes and hair. Yea, that’s what it smelt like. It didn’t smell bad, but, the smell clung onto my clothes when I was done eating. So, not a big fan of that.

Isn’t it just adorable! I think it’s sooooo cute! Let’s take a look at what I thought about the foods and drink.

The few times I came here, I’ve only tried a very selected set of items of their menu. One word to describe their whole menu though is: Fusion. Most of the things, I feel, gave a sort of Western and Asian fusion take on food. However, I still went for a classic chicken chop. 🐔 I wanted to add that the dish I had was about RM18 (USD4.50), I would say it isn’t that expensive, reasonable to me, I suppose. They provide you with quite a large piece of chicken meat with real mashed potatoes! Usually, I would find that a number of restaurants uses a type of flour mix for their “mashes potatoes” but this place uses real potatoes, I know this because you still can feel the chucks, and it’s not like completely smooth. So that’s a plus!

I also decided to other something I’ve never tried before for a drink. At this point of writing this, I don’t know what it’s called but it was almost RM20 (USD 5), and for 20 ringgit, I thought it was already pretty pricey. But I let that slide as it sounded pretty good on the menu, and I wanted to give it again. Here’s a better picture of how it looked.

Honestly, it wasn’t too nice for me. I thought the chocolate drink was extremely sweet. But, the presentation of it looked really nice; I would give it an A+. Sad to say, I don’t think I’ll order that again. 😶  Though, I did really enjoyed the two macaroons! Oh! One more thing, my drink and food came at the same time. That was a little troublesome cause there is a cone of ice cream in my drink haha. I would have appreciated if my drink came much earlier than my food, so I wouldn’t have to worry about the ice cream melting away. But, it didn’t bother me too much.

Overall, I would say that the food and drinks are good; for the most part, the prices are reasonable. The staff from my experience were also friendly. So, yea. I would recommend the place! And to any of my Malaysian readers who are Muslim, they are pork and alcohol-free! So you can check them out. This post is also not sponsored, I decided to put it up myself.

From the pictures, do you like the decor of the place? Would you ever like to go there? Is there any restaurants near you that has a Western-Asian fusion on their food? Tell me in the comments!

Hope you’re having a good one!
